More and more expectant parents are choosing to capture this special time through a maternity portrait session before the baby is born. Some prefer the mother-to-be to be photographed on her own, while others want both parents—and any siblings—to be included in one or more of the photographs. As the person booking the session, you are entirely free to decide how you would like the photoshoot to be arranged.

To achieve the best possible results, it is a good idea to plan ahead. This type of photography often works particularly well outdoors, as the natural surroundings can be used both as a backdrop and to frame the photographs beautifully. By booking your session well in advance, we can work together to find the best possible location and time—perhaps when the autumn leaves are at their most colourful or while the lilacs are still in bloom.

A maternity photo session is usually recommended during the seventh or eighth month of pregnancy. Waiting too long may make it more difficult to move around comfortably and have enough energy for the session.
